WQW has been an ongoing project since 2018. Each season, CCE scientists and community volunteers sample during 6 events from June to September. During each sampling event, a set of water quality parameters are measured at 8 stations that represent Patchogue's waterways. These physical parameters are then used to determine the health of the bay and the viability of several local species that are both recreationally and environmentally important to the area.
